Improvisation and Theatre Games in the Music Class

Clinician Sean Hartley will explore Dalcroze techniques of Improvisation and Theater Games to enliven group music classes and deepen the individual learning experience.   The workshop will also include time for people to share classroom management strategies for these activities in different settings.

Sean Hartley, Chair of Dalcroze Dept., Kaufman Center, NYC is a teacher, writer, composer, administrator and producer in New York City. He is currently Director of the Theater Wing at the Kaufman Center in New York, where he also teaches Musical Theater and Chorus and is the chair of the Dalcroze department.  He produces three annual concert series: Broadway Close Up, Broadway Playhouse and The Poppy Seed Players. His musical, Cupid and Psyche, written with composer Jihwan Kim, was produced off-Broadway, earning a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Lyrics.
